Red-legged Honeycreeper – Costa Rica lifer#33

February 14, 2020 By Stan Lee

Although I had photographed this Honeycreeper in captivity before, this is the first time I saw it in the wild. So, I count it as a lifer.

A small songbird species in the tanager family, it lives from southern Mexico, through Central America, southwards to Peru, Bolivia and central Brazil. It is also found in Cuba, Trinidad and Tobago. Length: 12-13 cm
