Belted Kingfishers are very skittish birds. They are difficult to get close enough for decent photos in our region. I normally have more luck photographing them in Florida USA. Yesterday, I was lucky enough to capture this fellow at a reasonable distance (still not exactly close) both perching and in flight in Essex Ontario. That made my day.
