Gnat Ogre (a species of Robber Flies) with prey – Windsor Ontario

August 2, 2021 By Stan Lee

Gnat Ogre is the smallest species of the Robber Flies. Its length is less than half an inch. It typically hunts from a conspicuous perch such as the tip of a plant. It darts out after extremely miniscule bugs that happen past, or it sometimes rather clumsily fly through foliage picking insects from leaves in the manner of a damselfly.
