This species of hummingbird is found on the east slope of the Andes from southern Colombia through eastern Ecuador and in northeastern Peru. Generally, it ranges between altitude of 1,600 and 2,800 m (5,200 and 9,200 ft). Length: 13 to 14 cm (5.1 to 5.5 in)
