This long-tailed (male only) hummingbird is found in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela in elevation between 900-3,000 m (3,000-9,800 ft). Length: male 16-19 cm (6.3-7.5 in) including the 12 cm (4.7 in) outer tail feathers; female 9.7-11.7 cm (3.8-4.6 in)
