This rarely seen, medium-sized antpitta can only be found within limited range in the Andes of Colombia and Ecuador around 1,850–2,000 meters. It resides in mossy cloud forest in the lower subtropic. It is considered “Globally Threatened”. A difficult bird to find and photograph as it normally in dark places. Length: 16 cm (6.3 in)
