Willow Ptarmigan – Point Pelee National Park Ontario

May 11, 2023 By Stan Lee

The Willow Ptarmigan is a bird in the grouse subfamily of the pheasant family. In Canada, this bird exists on the most northern part of the country. It is extremely rare to find it in Southern Ontario. Yesterday, we are so fortunate to see this rarity at Point Pelee National Park which has close to 400 recorded species. Yesterday was the first record of this species.
