Yellow Garden Spider – Windsor Ontario

August 23, 2021 By Stan Lee

Yellow Garden Spider can be found through out Central America, United States and Southern Canada. With body length ranges from 19 – 28 mm, it is one of the largest orb weavers in Ontario Canada. It does not survive through the winter. The male spiders die off shortly after mating. The female after mating will produce an egg sac containing hundreds of spiderlings in the late summer. The spiderlings will hatch and overwinter inside the protective and insulated sac, emerging in the spring.
