Cattle Egret – Amherstburg Ontario

The Cattle Egret was originally native to parts of southern Spain and Portugal, tropical and subtropical Africa and it is now found world wide. It first arrived in North America in 1941, bred in Florida in 1953. The first time it bred in Canada was 1963. Unlike other herons, it is a grassland species. Length: 51 cm Wingspan: 78 cm Lifespan: up to 17 years

    Another impressive series of images.Nice details,colors and great lighting.
    The shot with the pair on the fence is really amazing.

      Thank you for your comments, Larry. To get the shot with the pair, I had to stop down to small aperture in order to achieve the DOF.
