Bufflehead drake – Windsor Ontario

This smallest diving duck in North America is one of my favorite ducks. The drake (male) has an extremely colorful striking head pattern. It displays various colors under different light directions. It is difficult to get close-up photos as it is very skittish. This series of images shows the various color head patterns of this cute little duck. Length: 32-39cm Wingspan: 54-61cm
