This long tailed hummingbird is found on the east slope of the Andes in Ecuador and northeastern Peru. Male rufous-booted racket-tails has a long tail. Its length measures 11 to 15 cm (4.3 to 5.9 in) long including the 6 cm (2.4 in) long outer tail feathers.
